History and Mission
Incorporated in Canada and the United States in 1989, KWH Constructors is a full service, turn-key construction company specializing in all erection-oriented projects. We are an engineered erector and installer of bridges, machinery, heavy equipment and complex steel structures.
When it comes to the challenging field of structural steel erection, KWH offers you superior standards of performance and workmanship by a highly experienced team. Each senior partner has over 30 years of direct, hands-on construction experience. From our structural engineers to our construction superintendents and field supervisors, the KWH team knows construction from start to finish.
You can depend on KWH for your complete project requirements. Along with our expertise in steel erection, we are a welding contractor with CSA - Division 1 certification and a member of the Boilermakers Lodge. We are also a certified electrical contractor with an unrestricted license and an approved elevator installer.

Jeff Mullins
Principal Specialist Erection Engineer
- P.Eng. Southampton College of Technology
- Currently working at KWH Constructors as the principal specialist erection engineer for projects including: Port Mann Bridge, Lions Gate Bridge, Granville Bridge and Hope Bridge.
- On site engineer for the construction of Alex Frasier Bridge.
- Manager of Construction Engineering at Canron Inc. Responsible for the project engineering of contracts, among other duties.
Peter Saunderson
Director of Engineering
- BSc Civil Engineering, University of Manchester, UK (1968) P.Eng.
- Founder of Somerset Engineering Ltd. In 1981. Developed this company into Somerset Engineering Group Inc.
- Co-founded parent company, KWH Constructors with Somerset Engineering Group presently acting as a division.
- Worked at Canron Incorporation as a Construction Engineer where he was responsible for all project engineering.
Dennis P. Dupasquier
Senior Construction Engineer
- Bachelor of Applied Science (1980), University of BC, Major in Civil Engineering (1980), Welding Fundamental Principles & Practices Diploma (1981), Welded Structural Design Diploma (1983), BC Construction Council Construction Audit Course Diploma (1986)
- Professional Engineer licensed in both British Columbia and Washington State.
- Working with KWH Constructors & Somerset Engineering Group since 1991, he is the current Senior Constructor Engineer.
- Throughout his successful career, Dennis has experience working in over 40 major projects.
Gale Roberts
Structural Engineer
- B.A. Sc. Structural Engineering Option, University of British Colombia (1989), Structural Drafting, Vancouver Vocal Institute (1984)
- Currently works at Somerset Engineering and KWH Constructors. A major project that he pioneered was the Cooper River Bridge, in Charleston, South Carolina. He designed temporary structures, equipment and procedures for the construction of this bridge.
- Previous work experience includes engineering various major projects for AMEC Engineering & Construction, as well as Morrow & Associates Engineering and Skeena Cellulose Incorporated.
Bob Hawk
Director of Construction of KWH Constructors & Somerset Engineering Group
- Apprenticed as an Ironworker while completing two years of school at Simon Fraser University (1962-1967)
- As Director of Construction at KWH Constructors & Somerset Engineering Group, he has provided construction and specialty erection engineering for major projects including: Port Mann Bridge and the Aurora Bridge.
- He also has experience in erecting, maintaining and commissioning specialty bridges, high-rise buildings, and other heavy industrial erection.
- Mr. Hawk also has valuable work experience working at: RD Hawk and Associates and Canron Incorporated.
Tony Tecklenborg
Chief Engineer of KWH Constructors & Somerset Engineering Group
- Bachelor of Applied Science, Civil Engineering, University of British Colombia (1964), Advanced Strength of Materials Course (1965), W.I.C. Welded Structural Design (1982)
- Registered Professional Engineer in both British Colombia and Alberta.
- He has been the Chief Engineer of KWH Constructors & Somerset Engineering since 1994, and has been instrumental in the completion of projects including: Dominion Bridge, Carquinez Bridge, Monroe Power Plant, Maumee River Bridge and the Shasta Dam Temperature Control Device.
- He is responsible for all engineering activities for the Vancouver Branch, which includes: preparing methods of construction, designing construction equipment and field supervision for these projects.
Health, Safety & Environment
Since KWH Constructors was founded in 1989, health, safety and the environment have each been established as key success factors. Our company is committed to attain clearly defined objectives within each of these three key areas. This commitment starts with our mission and is incorporated into our corporate policies and daily business processes undertaken. It has complete vertical involvement; from CEO, management, office employees, shop personnel to field crews.
KWH provides a range of construction services and often these are "turn-key" services. All designs, procedures, value engineering, fabrication, detailing and installation services reflect a total commitment to HS&E.
KWH Constructors is a bonded and unionized construction firm with an excellent safety record. KWH is affiliated with six international unions, including: ironworkers, operating engineers, machinists, boilermakers, electrical workers and painters.
KWH's objective is to develop and maintain an effective program for the safe provision of services to its clients. The Company's halth, safety and environmental policy states:
