Juneau Creek Bridge
Location
Cooper Landing, Alaska
Project Description
The Juneau Creek Bridge aims to provide a much-needed solution to a heavily congested part of the Sterling Highway in south-central Alaska. The project seeks to improve the safety of travelers, access for residents, the risk to the Kenai River, and congestion efficiency in Cooper Landing.
Somerset developed a launch system for the incremental launching of a 1,000 ft long 5-girder-line bridge. KWH Constructors provided the launch equipment including cylinders and custom-built rollers.
