Neptune Terminal Stacker/Reclaimer
Location
Neptune Terminal
Project Description
Periodically the forestays and backstays of the coal stacker/reclaimer for Neptune Terminal need to be replaced. During a scheduled ten-day shutdown, the boom was temporarily supported on KWH's 200-ton capacity shoring towers during the cable change-out. The largest cable replaced was three inches in diameter, requiring precise engineering and careful coordination to ensure structural integrity throughout the maintenance process.
This specialized project showcased KWH's expertise in temporary structural support systems and equipment rental for industrial maintenance operations. The team's efficient execution allowed the job to be completed two days ahead of schedule, minimizing downtime and demonstrating professional coordination with terminal operations.
