Sterling Creek Bridge
Location
Hedley, British Columbia
Project Description
Due to environmental restrictions this single 67m span, three-plate, skewed girder bridge was launched over this salmon spawning stream.
A six-legged bent was positioned adjacent to the stream carrying 150 ton capacity rockers each with two seventy-five ton rollers. A twenty metre long temporary nose was used with the pulling beam attached to it.
The bridge was pulled across the gap by a winch at bearing level since the abutment back-walls were not yet poured.
