Vancouver, British Columbia

Project Description

The new headquarters for this major telecommunications company is a unique architectural tower featuring pop-out floors, a five-storey glass office wing, and a spectacular curved wood and steel spine lobby area. KWH performed all structural steel installation on the project.

The five-storey glass office bar truss was supported at one end with modular falsework and the main truss connections were field welded. To install part of the spine under the multi-storey tower, KWH devised a custom sliding system as overhead craning was not possible in that area.

KWH also installed all of the wood ribs to the spine, combining precision structural steel work with the architectural mass timber elements that define the building's landmark lobby.
